Last week an Iranian MP revealed there is proof of the sexual abuse of protestors following June´s elections, confirming what many of us have thought and backing up the claims of Mehdi Karroubi.It was no surprise when the Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei reprimanded opposition leaders for calling attention to the alleged abuses of detainees.
It will be interesting to see whether there is enough demand for this to develop into a full enquiry. If so, the findings could have far reaching effects for both the Iranian prison system and the ruling government.

It's really perverse that the Supreme Leader should defend the abuse by saying that it's unfair to raise the issue of abuse at Kahrizak prison without also comlaining about the demonstrators "defacing the system".
