Rafsanjani was never the most courageous of men. He was fairly feeble at Friday prayers in so much as his backing for Mousavi did not extend as far as to calling outright for new elections.Sixty of the eighty odd conservative clerics on the Council of Experts slammed him for failing to support the Supreme Leader and in response he has now gone the whole hog and bought the Supreme Leader's agenda, hook, line and sinker.
