Clinton gets tough

Three sets of sanctions are not enough to deter Iran from becoming a nuclear armed country. A fourth could be imminent- but Iran still insists that its nuclear programme is to generate electricity.

American has announced that it is working on sanctions “that will bite” immediately and force Iran to disclose its atomic programme. Humanitarian considerations of Iranians have been taken into account. These new penalties will target leadership entities, such as the Iranian Revolutionary Guard- which plays a major role in the county’s politics and economics.

The ongoing belligerence of Iran towards the threat of sanctions against its nuclear programme has run its course. Patience in the West for Iran to “come clean” has all but disappeared and Iran will now have to face the harsh consequences of it not cooperating with the international community.

US wants sanctions on Iran to be tough.
