It is too early to say the neo-cons are out of fashion in the US administration.
According to Counterpunch, a new Office for Iranian Affairs has been set up at the Pentagon. It is housed in the same rooms formerly occupied by the Office of Special Plans (the discredited propagandists for the Iraq war) and run by the same crew (Douglas Feith's assistant) and reporting to architect of the war Dick Cheney's daughter who is now the Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs. Already there are reports of bogus stories about Iran being planted in the press.
